When I was 10 years old, my brother told me that my name meant “God’s little helper.” It was a title that truly confirmed what I’d known all along, that I was here to make life better for those in need (cheesy AF, but true!). Of course, he quickly followed by explaining that his name meant “gift from God,” so who really knows how accurate – or instead convenient – those monikers really were … Either way, I agreed that my path would always include some type of service.
And after nine years as a beauty editor – and a side gig as a stellar volunteer – I decided to launch RandomActsofLipstick.com, where I serve beauty editorial with a side of feel-good philanthropy, as my main gig. We also tout a shop section with a Random Acts of Lipstick signature tote. On Monday, December 5th, the Random Acts of Lipstick franchise will host our first ever event!
Our mission will be brought to life during a hair donation day at Saulino Smith Salon in Santa Monica, CA, where I (along with loads of others, if all goes according to plan!) will chop 10 inches of hair to be donated to Locks of Love. The org will create and distribute hairpieces to children with long-term medical hair loss across Canada and the U.S.
Now we need your to help make this day a huge success so that children in need will have a happier holiday.
